Marc Miroir

How and when did you start djing?
I think it was in 1993, when I started djing at several smaller parties in my hometown. Thereby my name recognition increased steadily, until I became resident Dj at a very established club named Airport, which is located in Würzburg. To this day, there I am turning the tables regularly.

What do you think about the evolution of music and clubbing in the last 10 years?
Music is developing continously and as a result of this the clubbing. Techno music in Germany is going to get more refined, minimal , fractional and also more groovy. Thus more smaller clubs seem to be hip and are visited by a more stylish club-scene, whereas in former times everything had a very strong rave character.

What kind of music do you use to play?
I play groovy techno around 130 bpm.

You are a dj and a productor... Which one is going to be the kind o -

f music of your next productions?
The next releases cover a wide spectrum: from minimal to funky, from pushing to melodious. Danceable clubsound as the one that I am playing. In april and may 2006 there will be two singles of mine released: one on “Confused Recordings” ( Con 55 ) and one on my label “Paso-Music” ( Paso 007 ).

Tell us the names of your favourite productors, excluding you:
Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Tony Rohr, Pascal FEOS, Anthony Rother, Dominik Eulberg, Trentemöller…

Where are you currently working and in which club would you like to play?
At regular intervals I am playing at my resident club called Airport, as well as in the most hip clubs in Germany and also more and more in Spain. In the future I would like to play more often internationally, like in the United States, Japan or some other european countries.

Tell us about the most exciting moments of yo -

our career and the nicest club where you worked at:
I had big gigs at national festivals like Nature One, SonneMondSterne or the LoveParade, which were very exciting. The most beautyful clubs I played at, were for example Cocoonclub /Frankfurt, Florida 135/ Fraga (Spain) and the Airport/ Würzburg.

The record that you loves more and at least 5 of your favourites:
- Datapunk Rockstars / Klartext
- Nasty&Tresher / Black Sorcery
- Marc Miroir/Tom Klein / Scope
- Johannes Heil / Freaks are us Album
- DJ Slip / Erverytime it takes a while RMX

What do you think about new technologies and particularly about the relation between internet and clubbing?
Internet is a very important platform for the exchange between musicians of all kinds, booking agencies and the club promoters. Moreover it is a fundamental source of information about partydates, clubs and Djs.
